William pick up his 1965 Kombi from a local business owner at Rancho Nipomo Deli and BBQ. When he purchased the bus it had been completely restored with new paint, interior, and motor. The motor is 1600 dual port which Williams says is a strong motor and gets him where he needs to go. William is no stranger to VW's in his youth he owned two 1971 bay window buses and waited patiently until his children were out of the house before he picked up his new pride and joy. He joked a little and said that his wife got a new dog and he got his bus. William drives his bus up and down the coast looking for the perfect wave. There's no better way to do that, except in the perfect surfing vehicle of all time. After William brought his bus home he wanted to give it a lower stance, so he purchased a set of 2-1/2 inch drop spindles and had James adjust the rear end to give it a Cal bus stance. Once the new spindles were in place and rear end was adjusted. The bus became one with the road and out on the open highway William went. When William gets some time he would like to get a little more history on the bus that he now enjoys. This is why William Lasala get this months Club Member Feature Car for March 2009.
